stallions

The breeding stock on the Travis Quarter Horses ranch is truly one-of-a-kind. As riders ourselves, we know the qualities we like to see in horses, and are careful to breed horses that we are proud of. Here, you will find our stallions. Each is unique in what they offer, but all are guaranteed to give you a well-rounded ranch horse.

Claytons blue train
(Blue)

This 2013 stallion is out of Claytons Bluewood by War Train, and is 18% Driftwood. Blue is quick and handy, with plenty of speed. This combination can be seen in each of the colts he sires. Approximately half of the colts he throws are roans, as he is a homozygous black, blue roan himself. All of them are quick, powerful, very athletic and have very sound minds. Blue is rode by Jamie Travis, and even if he hasn't rode Blue in 6 months, this horse is still calm and consistent. Even after Jamie finishes a smoking fast run in the arena, Blue can be found with the smallest of riders, walking slowly in the warm-up pen. Because of these qualities, most of the colts Blue sires sell fairly quickly, but there are a few we just couldn't give up. You don't have to look very far to find a horse sired by Claytons Blue Train, and most can even tell their breeding just by watching them. We are truly blessed to own this incredible stallion.

Poco Dakota Hancock
(Dakota)

Picture
Dakota is a 2014 stallion out of Rey Black Buck by CJ Driftin Hancock, and is 10% Blue Valentine. The colts by this incredible stallion have great minds, are easy to break, and honestly - they're just fun to ride. Many of the colts that we have from Dakota are easily turned into kids horses. These really are our favorite kinds of horses.
Jack Quee, an incredible horseman and one of our great friends, broke Dakota when Jack was 84-years-old. This stallion is very quiet, a hard-worker, and a pleasure to ride. Bruce Travis rides him most of the time. He often pulls him out of the pasture after a long few months of "doing his job," and Dakota rides the same as he did the last time Bruce rode him. Bruce really enjoys riding Dakota and we are blessed to own such an incredible stallion.

sandmans cash
(yankee)

Yankee is a 2019 stallion out of Tigress Skip by Flash One. This young grulla stallion is ridden by Clint Travis. The bloodlines of this stallion are incredible. With speed from Flash One and a sound mind from Tigress Skip, the offspring from this stallion should be very high quality. We love Yankee’s cow-sense on the ranch and his speed in cowboy mounted shooting. If you’re looking for speed, brains and confirmation, his foals will not disappoint you.

Reference stallions

Flash one - Reference stallion
(flash)

Flash One was a stallion out of Flashalil by Dash For Perks, with 37% Dash For Cash - one of the most famous racing quarter horses. The colts from Flash have great minds and are very handy, but most of all, these horses are fast. In his younger years, Flash was quite the barrel horse, and gave that trait to the colts he sires. A few of his colts have even reported winning $35,000+ in the barrel racing circuits. Unfortunately, he passed in 2022. We were fortunate to not only own this incredible stallion, but we also ride many horses by him, including:
- Perks Powderface (Dally)
- Perks Tiny Watch (Milo)
- King Blue Cash (Cash)
- Sandmans Cash (Yankee)
- TF High Brow Flash (Cat)
- TF Dash For Hazer (Jill)
- Bo
- Ruger
- Broodmares: TF Dash For Can Can, Zips Classy Flash JT

cj driftin hancock - reference stallion
(drifty)

This horse was out of Claytons Dawn by Claytons Wood Dust, and was 20% Blue Valentine. Drifty threw great colts that have great minds and are easy to break. In fact, some of our kids are currently riding young horses by Drifty. Unfortunately, we lost Drifty two years ago to laminitis, but boy did he leave a legacy. This stallion's colts are known for how easy they are to break. Each of them show Blue Valentine gentleness, but also incredible speed. Fortunately, we kept back one of his stud colts (Poco Dakota Hancock) to keep Drifty's legacy alive. The horses we ride from this horse include:
- TF Sandy Valentine (Sandy)
- TF Driftin Man (Rowdy)
- TF Driftin Mesquite (Rusty)

- Polly
- Daisy
- Lents Driftin Silvy (Silvy)
- Broodmares: TF Driftin Trace, Hazers Driftin Katy

King blue cash - Reference stallion
(cash)

Picture
Kings Blue Cash is a 2018 stallion out of Easter Blue Sue and Flash One, with 19% Dash for Cash and 17% King. Cash can be best described in one word - fast. His rider, Luke Travis, often sets the fastest raw time in at Cowboy Mounted Shooting events. He has the need for speed, and can quickly move through even the toughest patterns. He is now a gelding, and we are excited to see the horse he becomes.
