Welcome to the Travis Quarter Horses Futurity & Derby. A special event created to celebrate the next generation of mounted shooting horses and the programs behind them.

Modeled after the CMSA Futurity & Derby format, these classes are designed to showcase young horses as they begin and progress in their mounted shooting careers.

​

The TQH Futurity is open to horses 4 years old and younger that have not been competed on prior to January 1 of their futurity year. This is not a rookie class.

​

The TQH Derby is open to horses 5 years old and younger that are in their second full year of mounted shooting competition.

​

Eligible horses for both contests include those:

• Raised by Travis Quarter Horses

• By a Travis Quarter Horses stallion

• Out of a Travis Quarter Horses mare

​

Entry fee is $100 and includes two stages of competition.

  • 1st Place: $1,000 Prize Money & Trophy Saddle Pad​

  • 2nd Place: Trophy Breast Collar 

  • 3rd Place: Trophy Bridle

• Derby Champion Prize​s

  • 1st Place: $500 Prize & Trophy Saddle Pad​

  • 2nd Place: Trophy Breast Collar

  • 3rd Place: Trophy Bridle
